Sojitz SOLVADIS GmbH has acquired Citis Group

We are pleased to announce that Sojitz SOLVADIS has acquired 100% of the share capital of Citis SAS and Citis Forming SAS (“Citis Group”) in France, from PLF Ressources.

Citis Group – headquartered in Colombes, France – is one of the key players on the French sulphur market. Founded in 1952, Citis SAS distributes liquid sulphur and provides logistics and storage services to customers primarily in France, as well as in selected markets in Europe and Northwest Africa. Citis Forming SAS, established in 1985 in Dunkerque, specialises in the conversion of liquid sulphur into solid pastilles forms and other advanced sulphur products in a variety of packing sizes. The addition of Citis Group will increase Sojitz SOLVADIS’ footprint in France, Benelux and UK, in order to deliver the best services to its customers in transport, supply flexibility and products portfolio. The combined entities will hold the largest sulphur storage and forming capacities in Western Europe(*).

This transaction is fully consistent with Sojitz SOLVADIS’ long-term growth strategy and its commitment to serving the chemical industry as a fully integrated partner. It also supports Sojitz Corporation’s global strategy of enhancing the resilience and competitiveness of its trading business by expanding its integrated sulphur value chain. By combining Sojitz SOLVADIS’ established presence in Germany and other European countries with the Citis Group’s strategically located infrastructure in France — including storage terminals at Le Havre and Marseille as well as a production facility in Dunkerque — the combined entity will be uniquely positioned to distribute sulphur through a responsive supply chain.

“This acquisition marks a transformative step in our European growth strategy. By combining our established network, with Citis Group’s unique infrastructure and expertise, we are creating a truly comprehensive sulphur platform that will deliver unmatched services to our customers across Europe.”

-Eberhard Zorn, CEO, Sojitz SOLVADIS Group-
