For our headquarters in Frankfurt am Main, we are looking for a Head of Accounting – Frankfurt (m/f/d) to join us as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage the Accounting team in Frankfurt
• Take overall responsibility for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements of the German entities in accordance with German GAAP (HGB)
• Oversee all day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and general ledger accounting
• Ensure compliance with German statutory accounting requirements as well as internal Group accounting and reporting standards
• Support the preparation of reporting packages and consolidated financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors as well as internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure and continuously improve the internal control system within Accounting
• Drive the further development, standardization and digitalization of accounting processes and systems, particularly within the SAP environment
• Advise and support operational business units on accounting, financial reporting and process-related matters

Qualification

• Degree in Business Administration, Economics or a comparable qualification
• Several years of relevant professional experience in Accounting, Audit or a comparable Finance function
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB)
• Proven experience in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
• Experience in leading or functionally managing employees
• Previous experience in an international group environment is an advantage
• Experience with a Big Four audit firm or within an international corporate environment is desirable
• Structured, independent and detail-oriented working style
• Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to quality
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with auditors and internal stakeholders
• Ability to explain complex accounting matters in a clear and solution-oriented manner
• Hands-on mentality with the willingness to actively support operational topics when required
• Interest in further developing, standardizing and digitalizing accounting processes
• Excellent written and spoken German and English
• Sound SAP user knowledge
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
